Customer Reviews

I was very skeptical when I purchased this transmitter, not knowing what to expect for $8. I hooked it up to my iTouch 3G and it actually worked great while I was still in the garage. The minute I got on the road then I started getting a lot of static and was so annoyed that I shut it off and gave up hope. Later I got the idea to google this issue and got some real good tips. One tip was to disconnect the radio antenna and that was very easy for me to do on a Jeep. Also you need to keep the device near the radio. So when I did those I did not get anymore static. At that point I only got static when I had to bring the iTouch closer to me to change playlists. The final tip that really made all this work was to attach the included charger to the cigarette lighter even though you really don't need to charge the iTouch. The wire helped greatly with the reception and at that point I did not get any static no matter how I moved my iTouch. So this device works great and I highly recommend it.

I was looking for a universal FM transmitter as I don't use my iPod much anymore when came across this item. Since there seem to be lots of bad reviews, I figured I'd weigh in with my experience.
My wife bought it for me a couple of years ago because I had accidentally left my iTrip in my car when I sold it. I have never really had any issues with it. I live in a medium sized city and can testify to having to hunt for good FM stations. However, there are a few low powered stations in the area and this device easily overpowers them. It always amazed me when I'd turn off my iPod and I'd start hearing the low powered station again. My car antenna is in the back of the car, so I would think that it would have to have decent signal in order to come in that well from that distance.
